Planes, trains and automobiles: Getting to Chicago
Chicago is one of the most accessible cities in the world, and getting to Mid-Am is easy, affordable, and of options. With two major international airports and an expansive public transportation system, Chicago has the resources to get you where you need to go, when you need to get there.
Transportation Options
By Air
As North America's only dual hub for commercial air travel, the city is easy to get to from virtually anywhere. Chicago's premier location translates into real convenience for everyone. Visit www.flychicago.com for flight information, ground transportation, and more.
By Car
Traveling to Chicago by car is easy since most major highways and byways lead to the centrally located city. North, south, east or west—all roads lead to Mid-Am! See the McCormick Place Area map and parking options in the Parking & Directions section of this website.
By Bus or Train
The RTA (Regional Transit Authority) includes three public transit operators in northeastern Illinois: the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra commuter rail and Pace suburban bus. Visit the RTA website at www.rtachicago.com to view schedules, fares, and travel information, and to plan your trip online. If you are coming to Mid-Am from out of town, Amtrak has trains arriving daily from around the country to Chicago's Union Station. For details visit www.amtrak.com.
